A beginners course is aimed at those who want to start keeping honey bees and covers:
- honey bee lifecycle and biology
- honey bee diseases and their treatments
- equipment needed to start a colony of honey bees
- locating your hive
- colony management (the beekeeping year)
- swarms and swarm prevention
- obtaining honey and other – products of the hive
